Tiger Woods’ Former Employee Slams Golfer As ‘A Terrible Driver’ — But Doesn’t Think He Was On ‘Illegal Drugs’ At The Time Of DUI Arrest

A former longtime employee of Tiger Woods is speaking out about the professional golfer’s arrest.

As we previously reported, he was arrested and charged with DUI, as well as causing property damage and refusing to submit to the urinalysis test, after getting into a rollover crash in Jupiter, Florida, on Friday afternoon. Police claimed Tiger was driving down the road fast when he clipped the back end of a pickup truck trying to turn into a driveway. He ended up flipping the car over on the driver’s side. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the accident.

According to an ex-employee, Tiger is known for barrelling down the streets of Florida — so those details do not come as a shock to him! The former staffer, who asked to remain anonymous, told Dailymail.com on Friday night:

“The guy is a terrible driver…”

Considering Tiger has been in multiple car accidents throughout his life, including a scary one in 2021 in which he almost lost his leg, people likely figured that! Oof! The source continued:

“He drives like a bat out of hell very often on a road where lawn services are parked with heavy equipment. I’ve been with him in the car going 55 or 60 mph, driving past cops who don’t seem to care.”

However, law enforcement had no choice but to take issue with it this time. When cops arrived at the scene, Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek claimed the athlete appeared “lethargic” and impaired. The police conducted a breathalyzer test, which registered a 0.00%. Budensiek said experts evaluating him on the scene determined Tiger “was not impaired with alcohol, but they believe it was some type of medication or drug.” No drugs or alcohol were found in his vehicle. He then refused to take a urinalysis test at the police station, though.

The former employee doesn’t think Tiger was on “illegal drugs” at the time of his arrest, adding:

“I know the guy, that’s just not what he does.”

The insider believes Tiger, who returned to golfing earlier this week after months of injury rehab, only refused to give a urine sample because he is allegedly on heavy doses of prescription opioids from his health struggles:

“He has been on tons of pain medication for years.”

Hmm. For what it’s worth, Budensiek said Tiger informed police he had undergone various surgeries, and they took that into consideration while assessing him. However, the champion still failed the various field sobriety tests at the end of the day.

We’ll see what happens with Tiger next. He has since been released from jail but has not addressed the incident yet. What are your reactions to the DUI arrest, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments (below).
