The road to Hollywood’s biggest night just got a little clearer. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and ABC have officially locked in the dates for the next two Academy Awards ceremonies, setting the stage for a milestone moment in Oscars history.
The 99th Oscars® will take place on Sunday, March 14, 2027, followed by the landmark 100th Oscars® on Sunday, March 5, 2028. Both ceremonies will broadcast live at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on ABC and air in more than 200 territories worldwide. As tradition continues, the events will be held at the iconic Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood; at least until the partnership with AEG moves the event to LA Live in 2029.
The announcement not only gives studios, filmmakers, and awards strategists a firm timeline for the next two seasons, but also builds anticipation for the 100th Oscars®; a centennial celebration expected to honor a century of cinematic achievement. While details surrounding that historic ceremony remain under wraps, the milestone is already generating buzz across the industry as a potential moment for reflection, legacy honors, and major cultural impact.
Alongside the show dates, the Academy also confirmed key calendar milestones for the 2026 awards season, signaling the official kickoff of another competitive race toward Hollywood’s most coveted honor.
