It is that time of year again! The 2026 Kentucky Derby is in full swing this weekend, which means Anna Nicole Smith‘s daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead, is stepping out with her dad, Larry Birkhead, again! But she’s rocking a brand-new look for this race!
The 19-year-old attended the annual Barnstable-Brown Gala on Friday, wearing a chic black dress. And gone are the long blonde locks we are used to seeing from her! Now, she is sporting a wispy pixie cut with super platinum roots and dark brown tips! Larry shared in the caption that Dannielynn is embracing a “goth-rock” aesthetic right now, saying:
“Another year another Barnstable-Brown Gala for the @Kentuckyderby weekend. Dannielynn is rocking a fresh cut and ‘goth-rock’ style with her @punkraveclothing dress. She insisted I get in on the theme with my Phillipp Plein jacket. Looking forward to a great time for a great cause.”

But what does the teenager’s dad think about the ‘do? Larry told People Dannielynn “wanted something edgy and cool,” and he was nervous about the final results! He even said that he was “bracing himself” at the hair salon as she “chopped it all off and put some wild colors in it.” He continued:
“We’ve got this total style change up for her. And this is kind of, I think her coming into her own, doing her own thing and kind of exuding her own style and her choices that she made.”
We think it’s incredible! And we love how Larry and Dannielyn keep their tradition alive!
