Britney Spears ‘Craves Connection’ — But Is Hanging Around ‘Shady Characters’ As ‘Situation Is Spiraling Fast’!
Britney Spears is eager for deep friendships… but, unfortunately, she’s hanging around some sketchy people!
Shortly after the pop star’s DUI arrest, a source told People on Friday that she wants “nothing more than being around friends.” The insider reflected:
“She lives a very lonely life and it’s not helping her emotionally. She craves connections.”

Sadly, “people come in and out of her life” and “most relationships are short-lived,” they elaborated:
“She really struggles with maintaining friendships. It’s all very sad.”
Oof. It’s so tough, especially for someone like her who has been famous for so long and constantly has to consider if people want to be her real friend or just want something from her!
The California Highway Patrol has since confirmed she was arrested on Wednesday night after “driving erratically at a high rate of speed” and seemed to be impaired by “a combination of drugs and alcohol,” Public Information Officer Ryan Ayers said in a press release. That said, chemical test results are still pending.
As for how she’s feeling after the incident, the source told People:
“She’s very emotional and regretful this morning.”
Meanwhile, an insider told Rob Shuter for his Naughty But Nice Substack on Thursday that she’s hanging in the wrong crowd these days:
“She’s been hanging around some really shady characters. Several people are known drug dealers.”
Oof.
She once dated a felon, so this isn’t exactly surprising, but it’s not reassuring to hear at all!
Amid reports she’s fired her sober coaches, security guards, and other team members, the source added:
“Britney isn’t surrounded by people who are protecting her. She’s trusting the wrong people.”
Oh, no! Naturally, this has caused her inner circle to grow concerned:
“Everyone around her is worried. This situation is spiraling fast.”
Dang. So sad to hear. One source familiar with the situation warned “this could become much bigger than a DUI,” noting “investigators are waiting to find out exactly what the substance is” that was found in her possession. A lot still left to determine…
She seems to have a strong support system, which is trying to help her through this difficult time. We hope that remains the case.
