DWTS Alum Reveals She Survived LaGuardia Airport Crash — But Is Now Struggling ‘Physically’ & ‘Mentally’
A former Dancing with the Stars performer was aboard the fateful Air Canada flight — and now, she’s telling her story.
More than a week after the terrifying and deadly LaGuardia Airport crash, which resulted in the deaths of two pilots and the injuries of 41 passengers, we’ve learned that DWTS’ very own Charlotte Jørgensen, who appeared in season 1 of the competition show alongside John O’Hurley, was aboard.
In a vulnerable Instagram post on Sunday, Charlotte shared a personal photo from the wreckage and reflected on what she thought was going to be a standard experience:
“A week ago tonight, after a fabulous weekend in Montreal, I boarded Air Canada 8646 bound for La Guardia NYC. By now, probably most of you have heard of the collision that happened with a firetruck on the runway. I owe my life to two brave souls Captain Antoine Forest and First Officer Mackenzie Gunther — they made the ultimate sacrifice so that we all could live…. I am indebted to them and my thoughts are with their families”
That’s heavy. Forest and Gunther were true heroes!

Charlotte continued:
“On the night I felt nothing as adrenaline was rushing through my body but the days after has been tough — physically, mentally and emotionally.”
We can only imagine how much trauma her body and mind are currently working through…
The professional dancer went on to reveal she’s now safe at home with her husband and daughter:
“I am at home now, and Nelson and Vivianna are taking good care of me. I will be taking time to heal. I am grateful for all the love I have received and I send you all an extra warm hug”
She signed off by giving a shoutout to DWTS:
“Thank you to my @dancingwiththestars family for your care and concern”
