Queen Elizabeth REALLY Didn’t Trust Prince Harry & Meghan Markle! She Reportedly Refused To Answer His Calls Without A ‘Witness’!
Queen Elizabeth was reportedly very wary of her grandson in her final years…
According to Hugo Vickers‘ new book Queen Elizabeth II: A Personal History, the late Queen allegedly put some distance between herself and Prince Harry after he left the royal family. Of course, we knew tension was there following his interview with Oprah and his wife, Meghan Markle, as well as the release of his own bombshell book Spare.

But one crazy detail Vickers highlighted in his biography? Allegedly, that the Queen felt like she needed a witness before taking any of Harry’s calls:
“Whenever Prince Harry called his grandmother, she asked her lady-in-waiting to stay with her.”
OMG!
We mean… maybe it’s not a surprise considering everything that went down. But ohhh, man.
Vickers added in the book:
“The distress the Sussexes caused the Queen in the last years of her life cannot be overestimated.”
And a palace insider has since come forward and echoed this, too! That source told PageSix on Wednesday that the late, great Queen wanted a “record” of everything Harry said to her on these calls. Everything!!!
They also said she was pretty short with him at times:
“There were lots of one word answers, ‘yes’ and ‘no’. The Queen clearly wanted some kind of protection.”
The source also said Vickers’ claims about the Queen having her lady-in-waiting there with her during phone calls with Harry are completely true. That insider added specifically that she wanted “moral support and protection… to ensure there was a record of what was said”.
The source explained more:
“I think the Queen was also on her guard with Harry because she was so hurt by what he had done.”
Her lady in waiting wasn’t just for phone calls, though. Vickers claimed in his book she was there for Princess Lilibet‘s first birthday, as well:
“Prince Harry was at [his then-residence] Frogmore Cottage with his wife and two children, the gate adorned with balloons to celebrate baby Lilibet’s first birthday. They visited the Queen with the children, again with a lady-in-waiting present.”
Wow! So, she refused to be alone with Harry even for her granddaughter’s birthday!! That’s… really something.
It is definitely shocking, but not necessarily surprising… if we do say so ourselves. Just being honest!!!
