Trailer Tuesday: “Pretty Lethal” Starring Uma Thurman
Grace meets survival in the upcoming action-thriller Pretty Lethal, a high-stakes story that proves pointe shoes can be just as dangerous as any weapon. The film brings together an impressive young cast alongside screen icon Uma Thurman in a suspenseful tale where elegance and discipline become tools for survival.
The story follows five ballerinas traveling to a prestigious dance competition who can barely stand to be in the same room together. When their bus breaks down deep in a remote forest, the already tense group is forced to seek shelter at a mysterious roadside inn. The property is run by Devora Kasimer, a reclusive former ballet prodigy played by Thurman. From the moment the dancers arrive, the atmosphere feels off — and their suspicions quickly prove justified.
As the situation spirals into something far more sinister, the fractured troupe must put their rivalries aside. Drawing on years of intense training, the dancers transform grace, discipline, and even pointe shoes into unconventional weapons as they fight to stay alive.
Director Vicky Jewson says the film was designed to bring the physicality of ballet into the action genre. “In Pretty Lethal, I wanted to bring the highly specific skillset of a ballerina to the action space,” Jewson explained. “We created a world built on the broken dreams of a dancer, played by the iconic Uma Thurman. This world and our incredible young cast gave me the freedom to swing between horror, comedy and action to create a breathless rollercoaster ride.”

The cast features rising stars including Iris Apatow, Lana Condor, Millicent Simmonds, Avantika Vandanapu and Maddie Ziegler, who bring a blend of athleticism and intensity to the screen. The cast
Behind the scenes, the production leans heavily into its dance-meets-action concept, with choreography led by Will Tuckett and stunt design from Shahaub Roudbari, while the film’s score is composed by Paul Leonard-Morgan.
With its mix of psychological suspense, dark humor, and stylized action, Pretty Lethal promises a genre-bending ride where the line between performance and survival disappears — and where dancing like your life depends on it might not be just a metaphor.
Available on Prime, March 25, 2026.
