Trump Strikes Deal With Iran To Reopen Strait Of Hormuz After Shocking Threat — But It’s Already Been Closed Down Again!

Donald Trump struck a deal with Iran to temporarily reopen the Strait of Hormuz — but not without a hefty toll.

After the President of the United States issued a shocking Easter threat against Iran should they continue to refuse to open the Strait of Hormuz, he took things to a deplorable extreme. In a Truth Social post on Tuesday, he warned followers in reference to Iran:

“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?”

He doubled down on an 8:00 p.m. PST deadline he previously floated out:

“We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!”

Thankfully, such extreme measures were not taken as the US and Iran managed to strike up a temporary agreement on Tuesday evening. In a Truth Social post, Trump revealed that after talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, he agreed to “suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE!” He continued:

“We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two week period will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consummated.”

The details of said “10 point plan” were not immediately revealed, but Trump went on to share the “official statement of Iran,” issued by Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran:

“On behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran, I express gratitude and appreciation for my dear brothers HE Prime Minister of Pakistan Sharif and HE Field Marshal Munir for their tireless efforts to end the war in the region. In response to the brotherly request of PM Sharif in his tweet, and considering the request by the US for negotiations based on its 15-point proposal as well as announcement by POTUS about acceptance of the general framework of Iran’s 10-point proposal as a basis for negotiations, I hereby declare on behalf of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council: If attacks against Iran are halted, our Powerful Armed Forces will cease their defensive operations. For a period of two weeks, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible via coordination with Iran’s Armed Forces and with due consideration of technical limitations.”

Trump followed up by calling the deal “a big day for World Peace.”

On Wednesday morning, the 47th President told ABC News the US is seeking a “joint venture” with Iran to secure the Strait of Hormuz:

“We’re thinking of doing it as a joint venture. It’s a way of securing it — also securing it from lots of other people.”

He called it “a beautiful thing” and suggested American forces will remain in the region to enforce the agreement.

So what exactly are the details of the agreement? Well, while the 10 point peace plan is negotiated over the next two weeks, Tehran will start to charge ships up to $1 million per vessel to pass through the Strait. Ships must report details of their cargo, destination, and owner, to affiliates of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Tolls will be accepted in the form of Chinese yuan or cryptocurrency.

That’s a STEEP price…

Analysts have since dubbed the Strait the “Tehran Tollbooth,” noting the deal could net net Iran up to $500 BILLION over the next five years.

Iranian news agency Tasnim has since reported the 10 point deal stipulates the US should recognize Tehran’s control over the Strait, lift all sanctions, withdraw troops, pay compensation, and recognize Iran’s right to uranium enrichment. You can read the full proposed peace plan (below):

However, Trump claimed on Truth Social:

“There will be no enrichment of Uranium, and the United States will, working with Iran, dig up and remove all of the deeply buried (B-2 Bombers) Nuclear ‘Dust.’”

The deal, which according to Iranian officials via the New York Times, was brokered by Pakistan after Chinese intervention, included an agreement by Israel to ceasefire for the two-week period.

So, are we really any better off than we were two months ago?

Well, ships are set to be charged through the nose to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, Iran made no agreement on a limit for uranium enrichment, OR for nuclear weapons, and the nation did not agree to allow international inspectors to confirm compliance.

On BlueSky, human rights lawyer Qasim Rashid broke down the deal in opposition to Obama’s previous deal with Iran:

“Iran Deal By Obama:

— Strait of Hormuz open for free

— Iran limits Uranium enrichment

— Iran agrees to make no nuclear weapons

— Iran allows Int’l inspectors to ensure compliance

— Inspectors confirm Iran’s full compliance

Iran Ceasefire By Trump:

— Strait of Hormuz closed, only open for $2M Per Ship

— Iran makes no guarantee of limit on uranium enrichment

— Iran makes no guarantee of no nuclear weapons

— Iran makes no guarantee to allow Int’l inspectors

MAGA: Trump Playing 5D Chess! Art Of The Deal!! IMPEACH NOW!”

Rashid also went on to point out differences in terms of casualties, dollar amounts spent on war, and destruction between the deals — and spoiler alert: it was ZERO across the board for Obama.

Not anywhere near as good of a deal as we once had, but at least we’ve gotten somewhere, right? Well, on Wednesday reports came out saying Israel carried out a series of relentless bombings in Lebanon, directly disregarding part of the deal. And now in addition to the countless civilian casualties, Tehran has once again CLOSED the Strait of Hormuz — LESS than 24 hours after the deal was struck.

Woof! What are YOUR thoughts?
