Trailer Tuesday: “Disclosure Day”
Steven Spielberg returns to the big screen with Disclosure Day, the Amblin/Universal sci-fi thriller starring Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor.
The film follows a cybersecurity expert and a meteorologist who find themselves at the center of a global crisis after uncovering evidence of an extraterrestrial cover-up. As strange phenomena begin to spread worldwide, the pair are forced to go on the run while attempting to expose a truth powerful forces are determined to keep hidden.
The trailer leans into classic Spielberg territory — blending high-concept sci-fi, emotional human stakes, and large-scale spectacle — while teasing a modern paranoia-driven narrative rooted in questions of government transparency, technology, and belief.
Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo round out the cast. The film also reunites Spielberg with longtime collaborators David Koepp (screenwriter) and John Williams (composer), signaling a return to the director’s signature sci-fi language.
Why We’re Watching: Spielberg returning to original UFO-driven sci-fi with a modern conspiracy edge is exactly the kind of event filmmaking built for cultural conversation. The trailer for Disclosure Day has us feeling like it will be one of the defining theatrical releases of the year.
