Charlize Theron Rips Timothée Chalamet Over ‘Reckless’ Ballet & Opera Comments — Says He Will Be Replaced By AI But ‘Dancing Live’ Never Will!

Charlize Theron has WORDS for Timothée Chalamet.

The Bombshell star has major thoughts on her fellow actor’s recent ballet and opera diss! In case you somehow missed it, Timmy got himself into trouble last month during a conversation with Matthew McConaughey for Variety, where he totally steamrolled over the live arts! While talking about his passion for getting people in the theaters to see his movies, the 30-year-old callously joked:

“I don’t want to be working in ballet or opera where it’s like, ‘Hey! Keep this thing alive, even though no one cares about this anymore.’ All respect to the ballet and opera people out there.”

Some of Hollywood’s finest, including legendary director Steven Spielberg, quickly came out of the woodwork defending the performing arts — and Charlize is now the latest one.

In an interview with the New York Times published on Saturday, the Mad Max: Fury Road star, who has a background in dance, argued the art was “probably one of the hardest things [she] ever did.”

“Dancers are superheroes. What they put their bodies through in complete silence.”

The interviewer tactfully responded, “Sorry, Timothée Chalamet,” which opened a whole can of worms for the Monster actress:

“Oh, boy, I hope I run into him one day.”

Weighing in on Kylie Jenner’s boyfriends controversial comments on ballet and opera, she continued:

“That was a very reckless comment on an art form, two art forms, that we need to lift up constantly because, yes, they do have a hard time.”

The Oscar winner then went went on to eviscerate the Marty Supreme star, predicting his job will soon be taken over by AI — but NEVER live dancing:

“But in 10 years, AI is going to be able to do Timothée’s job, but it will not be able to replace a person on a stage dancing live. And we shouldn’t s**t on other art forms.”

Oof!

She went on:

“Dance taught me discipline. It taught structure. It taught hard work. It taught me to be tough. It’s borderline abusive. There were several times that I had blood infections from blisters that just never healed. And you don’t get a day off. I’m literally talking about bleeding through your shoes. And that’s something that you have to practice every single day, the mind-set of just, you don’t give up, there’s no other option, you keep going.”

Dancers put themselves through RIGRORIUS training! As do opera singers! To write off all their hard work is beyond a disservice!
