PRIME VIDEO CONFIRMS SEASON THREE PREMIERE DATE OF THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER
Prime Video officially has a return date for one of its biggest series. During Amazon’s annual Upfront presentation, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power confirmed that Season 3 will premiere on November 11, 2026, bringing fans back to Middle-earth for the next chapter in the sprawling fantasy saga.
The announcement arrives after the series continued to dominate globally for Prime Video, with Amazon revealing that the show has now attracted more than 185 million viewers worldwide. The streamer also noted that the series remains one of its strongest drivers for new Prime memberships.
Season 3 will reportedly jump forward several years after the events of Season 2 and place viewers directly in the middle of the escalating War of the Elves and Sauron. According to the newly released details, the upcoming season will follow the Dark Lord as he works to forge the One Ring in an attempt to gain ultimate control over Middle-earth.
Set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, the series has expanded Tolkien’s Second Age mythology with massive battles, elaborate world-building, and a sprawling ensemble cast spanning Númenor, Lindon, the Misty Mountains, and beyond.
Amazon also highlighted the show’s continued streaming success, noting that Season 1 remains the biggest television premiere in Prime Video history, while Season 2 ranked among the platform’s five most-watched returning seasons. The second season also debuted as the number one original series on Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 chart during its launch window.
The series continues under showrunners and executive producers J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay, alongside executive producers Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and director/executive producer Charlotte Brändström.
With the battle for Middle-earth intensifying and Sauron’s rise entering a darker phase, Season 3 is shaping up to be the most ambitious chapter yet for the fantasy epic.
The first two seasons of The Rings of Power are currently streaming exclusively on Prime Video.
