Feel the need… for speed all over again. Paramount Pictures is bringing Top Gun back to the big screen in celebration of its 40th anniversary, giving audiences a chance to experience the high-flying classic like never before.

The iconic film will return to theaters nationwide beginning May 13, 2026—for one week only.

Starring Tom Cruise in the role that helped define his career, Top Gun remains one of the most influential action films of all time, blending adrenaline-fueled aerial sequences with unforgettable music, romance, and swagger that shaped an entire era of blockbuster filmmaking.

To mark the milestone, a newly released anniversary trailer and poster revisit Maverick’s journey at the elite Navy fighter weapons school, reigniting the rivalry, camaraderie, and pulse-pounding action that made the film a cultural phenomenon.

This special theatrical run will be presented in premium formats including Dolby Cinema, 4DX, ScreenX, IMAX, and other premium large formats, offering fans both old and new an immersive way to relive the classic on the biggest screens possible.

Four decades after its original release, Top Gun continues to resonate across generations, further cemented by the massive success of its legacy sequel, Top Gun: Maverick. Now, audiences can return to where it all began.

Top Gun 40th Anniversary lands in theaters May 13, 2026 for a limited one-week engagement. Tickets are on sale now.
